    putting together my first 308 ar.  noticing the rear takedown pin and detent hole is not on the back of the lower but rather inside the hole of the detent pin.  having a heck of a time getting it installed.  any help appreciated

    Keep both lower and grip sideways
    - Insert safety detent and rear detent pins inside lower.
    - Insert rear detent sprint into lower
    -Insert safety spring into grip.
    -Put two together.

    Its extremely easy.  If you're having trouble, maybe you have the wrong parts?  Post pics if you haven't figured it out yet.
