Hey all- New to the Forum. Just received my Lower and Jig, and it all looks great. Was wondering what, if any, finish other builders are using on the bare aluminum of an Anodized lower? Was initially planning on Type II Anodize, but may have found an alternative in Brownell's AlumaHyde II. What say you?

Not sure if I understand your question. The bare aluminum of an Anodized receiver? If you are talking about the trigger group pocket after finishing, then I use nothing but a light coat of oil rubbed in.

A lot of shops won't touch an un-serialized receiver after it has been machined to receive a trigger group.. Just something to keep in mind...
So whatever do it yourself finish you choose may be your only option...

Thanks the response scorpiusb To clarify, though it looks like you figured it out, I was in fact referring to an anodized 80% lower after completing. 20 years in Aerospace Quality, and I just cannot live with the bare aluminum. Never thought about the non serialized aspect, but you are probably right. Haven't looked into that far yet. But the Alumihyde in Flat Black should do the trick just fine. Thanks again!!
