Dimensions and published specs,

Hey,
I finished a Cerro 'practice' lower and thought it was all messed up.
I phoned Mike and told explained the situation, but, first, let me thank Mike for his patience and response.
Sorry it's taken so long to make this available to others.
OK, I finished the lower and was measuring the sides and they were way short of the dimensions that the drawing that came with the Cerro casting showed.  I phoned to ask what the minimum thickness Mike thought would be safe.
He had me check all the dimensions and we found that all the inner dimensions were correct, and that the total thickness was correct, just that the drawing was wrong!  The drawing shows the walls being .108 thick, mine measured .087 and .089.  I think the difference is that I used tape on the outside to protect the anodizing and that this prevented the casting from being centered, plus, it's a Cerro and not a Broken Arms, which I'll work on next.
Anyway, Here is a pic of the drawing that the other supplier provided.

I'm not sure if the image will display, if not, please just follow the link.
I'll get it figured out! and I won't submit to the thievin' policy of photobucket.

Re: Dimensions and published specs,

Here are the links to the measurements of the lower.
I purchased this as a "pair" both anodized Green.  I also purchased a lower in the white to begin with.
However, after finishing, I noticed differences between the lowers, which are both supposedly Cerro casts.
The photo shows that the green pair, don't align, and that the white lower does.
Do you think these lowers and upper are all Cerro castings?
Again, links, if the images don't display.

Re: Dimensions and published specs,

I dont think thats Cerro.  Cerro has a key hole logo on the side.

But no matter if its Cerro or not..  The misalignment is due to shitty machine practices.  You cant fix shitty machinists.

(shameless plug) lol

Re: Dimensions and published specs,

Hey Mike,
Yes, the green anodized lower won't align with Olympic Arms or Aero Precision uppers, but, the green upper aligns with the other lowers.  The lower that is in the white and does align with the green upper has a keyhole mark, the misaligned green lower has a square.

Would it be possible to get a bead blasted raw lower?
Or, as I want to paint an undecided camo pattern--desert for pronghorn, forest for Pacific Northwest deer, black and gray for urban zombies?  ? maybe several times until I get a scheme I'm satisfied with, that the tooling marks simply won't be visible with some light sanding.
Soon.
R
